Corey Reis

Wine Director

Corey Reis brings a passion and depth of experience to Be.Steak.A’s wine program. A seasoned industry professional, Corey stepped into the role of Wine Director in December 2024, instantly becoming an integral part of the team. Whether he’s curating our 700+ label wine list, mentoring the staff through blind tastings, or obsessively double-checking for typos on the wine list (his self-confessed biggest pet peeve), Corey’s attention to detail and love for the craft ensures every guest experience is nothing short of exceptional.

Corey’s journey in hospitality has been shaped by some pivotal figures - most notably his best friend, Rodney Nourani, with whom he climbed the ranks at Pizza Antica and through the Court of Master Sommeliers, and Andrew Green, former Wine Director at Bacchus Management Group, who gave Corey his first leadership opportunity at Mayfield Bakery & Café in Palo Alto. Their influence helped foster Corey’s philosophy: wine is not just a beverage, it’s a crucial part of creating a truly memorable dining experience.

When he’s not fine-tuning Be.Steak.A’s expansive wine offerings, you’ll likely find Corey gardening, enjoying the California coastline, or taking long walks with his dog. His appreciation for craftsmanship extends beyond wine; he loves dining out for the incredible range of flavors, techniques, and the heart and soul chefs pour into their food. His values align perfectly with Be.Steak.A’s own commitment to hospitality.

Currently studying for his Certified Sommelier accreditation and pursuing the Italian Wine Scholar program, Corey’s dedication to continuous learning shows in every glass he recommends. He even shares his perspective beyond our walls, including an upcoming guest appearance on The Reluctant Somm’s podcast.

If you’re looking to transform your evening into a true wine and dine experience, Corey is your go-to guide. (Tip: ask him for the perfect pairing with the Lamb Chop, in his words, “easily the best bite in the restaurant.”)
